Updates from the Collab Office - February 2026

HSC Updates,

This month, we have one resource to share with you and many updates in the coming months as we continue to work with our state partners.

Lead Testing Resources

As you are aware, Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010 to test their drinking water for lead contamination between January 1, 2020 and January 1, 2023, and then every 5 years after the date of the first test. This requirement does not apply to licensed Family Child Care Homes.

The California Department of Social Services – Community Care Licensing Division has a Water Testing Information website for additional resources and information. These resources include factsheets that may be helpful for staff and families, as well as information on funding assistance for testing.

If you are interested in receiving state assistance to meet this requirement, you can find additional information and the eligibility form on the program overview page of the California State Water Resources Control Board's Lead in Drinking Water Testing Assistance Program for CCCs.

Feel free to email me if you have any questions, concerns, recommendations, or if you'd like to connect further.

With my deepest appreciation and thanks,

Ristyn Woolley
